ESTES PARK COLORADO – A ONE HORSE TOWN?

I was on my way to work and finding the traffic pretty typical, occasional deer a few elk.  I wasn’t really paying attention to the horse and rider, and then I thought that wasn’t exactly an every day event.  this horse and rider were navigating the busy streets through a construction zone at 7:00 AM.

HORSE AND RIDER MERGING TO ONE LANE IN TRAFFIC

I’ve been in Omaha, Dallas, LA, San Diego……. etc. during construction and traffic jams.  Just wanted you all to know that we have to deal with that ourselves right here in Estes Park, Colorado.  The horse and rider are preparing to merge into one lane.  We all know how difficult this can be at 7:00 AM on the way to work.

We not only have to deal with traffic issues here, but we also have other issues.

DUCK RACE FLAGS FLYING ON MAIN STREET ESTES PARK

You can see the Duck Race flags flying on main street.  Every year the Rotary Club in Estes Park has their annual Duck Race.  You can purchase a duck and go cheer him on as he swims down the river.  The race ends up at the Wheel Bar.  Most people just start saluting their duck from the bar early in the race and watch at the finish line to see how their duck actually swims.  By the time the ducks get there everyone is in a great mood (I’m Irish and you know most Irishmen do their thinkn and plannen at the pub) and they don’t really care what place their duck came in.  We do raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities with the race.

Enjoy your drive to work – I do!
